Rain was predicted for this day. Love, love the rain so for me I did care as it just add another element to photos and video so I knew it was going to make what I do better.
I was working with one of my favourite photo companies for this wedding, NAK Photography, Sam and Brent, super talented husband and wife team who I always enjoy working with.
But the day started off perfectly blues skies and very few clouds. Now I always like to get there early so I can have a chat with everyone so there is no rush. But in this case I get the hotels round the wrong way as I went to Oaks Aurora first and not Mantra on Edwards !! silly me, that’s why I never arrive late in case something dose go wrong, so it was no issues when I got to Mats bang on time.
Mat was full of beans, dancing, singing obviously very excited about the day. Mat was surrounded by his family and his two boys involved Indy and Caspar who were super excited as well, they even helped me with one of the shots. I was only there for 20 minutes when finished I was kindly driven by Shane to the Oaks Aurora for bride prep.
I was only planning on being with a Natalie for around an hour as I wanted to get to the church with plenty of time, it a big church with lots of ground to cover. Natalie being a spreadsheet queen was very organised, so just a fun relaxed time with the bridesmaid. Natalie two girls Summer & Tahnee.
St Albert’s Church is a nice big open space so lots of room to get around and set up cameras. I do love it when churches have an upper floor where I can set up and camera and just leave it running for the entire ceremony as with most Church ceremony they can be unpredictable! The ceremony went off without a hitch.
Rain was just staring to roll in when we all heading of to King George Square. Some fun shots in the rain with the bridal party, then is was juts Natalie and Mathew for a little urban walkabout, so much in rain stopping traffic getting equipment wet, but getting some great footage in the process and Nat & Matt did care about getting wet so it just more all the more fun.
The reception was at Sage on Ann street, on the 9th floor just behind St Albert’s uniting church, with fantastic views overlooking King George Square.
Some great heartfelt funny speeches by everyone and some of the best dancing I’v seen all year that why there is quite of that in the film.
My last wedding was very special and memorable, so happy I could be there to film it for Natalie and Mathew.
Merry Christmas 2017
