As a wedding videographer, I’ve only been to Maleny retreat once, but it was an amazing wedding. Any sort of wedding video can be created here. So what wedding video you end up with is down to you. from the moment you arrive, and you really don’t have to leave. It is an amazing place to fly a drone to get those epic wide open visits of the Glasshouse Mountains. For videography, Maleny Retreat is excellent. I really enjoy my time and always look forward to going back.

The key to this venue option is freedom and simplicity. Make no mistake, this wedding venue is all about wide open spaces, rolling hills and keeping it simple – right down to the tepee’s where you and your guests can enjoy a fun glamping experience.

It’s the ultimate blank canvas for you to create your dream wedding day. Many venues take care of (and choose) everything for you, from makeup to flowers to table place cards, but this isn’t that venue.

Maleny Retreat lets you use your own stylist, celebrant, florist and caterer. Rather than lock you into their suppliers and vision, they encourage you to create a wedding that’s totally you and in your budget. You can kick off your shoes, dance under the moonlight and sleep in a glammed-up tent if that’s your thing.

WEDDING DAY

At Maleny Retreat, you can get married on the crest of a hill with breathtaking views out across the mountains to the ocean, or even under a forest canopy.
You’ll find it hard to be nervous when you’re breathing in crisp mountain air and surrounded by the sounds of birds and other wildlife.

And it’s all completely private – yours for the day. If the weather’s not on your side, they can also move the ceremony to a lovely guesthouse. After the ceremony, you can take awesome photos across 100 acres of mountain, against sunsets that look like landscaped masterpieces – giving way to a black sky filled with more stars than you’ve ever seen.

Then dance the night away under a tepee magically transformed with pretty lights and a dancefloor. Or you may prefer a traditional white marquee or clear marquee, or even the guesthouse deck. There are several options to suit your vision.

ACCOMMODATION at Maleny Retreat

You’ll wake up to the first day of your marriage watching the mountain mist dissipate and the sun start to poke through, revealing a gorgeous day ahead.
There are 20 permanent tents available for you and your guests.

Each tents can sleep one or two adults. They don’t have electricity, but do have a bed base and mattress (BYO linen and towels) and a solar-powered lamp. If some guests would prefer a solid roof over their head, there is an onsite guesthouse that can fit up to 14 guests. It’s the perfect way to bring the families together.
