If you’re looking for a wedding venue with natural surroundings, rolling hills and amazing views, you don’t have to drive up to the mountains. You don’t even have to leave the city. Victoria Park is a Brisbane venue with an outstanding reputation for holding unique weddings.

It was named ‘Brisbane Wedding Venue of the Year’ in the LUXLife Global Wedding Awards Program in 2019 and 2020. I’ve filmed many weddings at Victoria Park and am always impressed with their professionalism and facilities. So I’ve provided some info about this great venue here.

About Victoria Park

One of the best things about Victoria Park is its convenience. Only 10 minutes from Brisbane CBD, your guests have plenty of public transport options. However, the venue also has plenty of free parking on site, which is unique for a venue close to the city.

Once you’re there, you can see why the venue is so popular. The grounds are lovely – full of ancient trees and green hills – and the city view is stunning. It’s got the best of both worlds, and I’ve taken some spectacular footage of happy couples against this unique backdrop.

Planning your wedding

Victoria Park will give you a dedicated wedding team to guide you through the event planning and preparation. They’ll work with you to ensure your dream day is how you imagine it. You can bring in your suppliers, but the planner can also give you a list of preferred suppliers as a starting point for your research.

Victoria Park for wedding videographers

Victoria Park offers a wide range of indoor and outdoor spaces for wedding videographers to capture creative shots for your wedding film. The departure of the golf course has opened up even more opportunities for creativity and exploration. Most videographers go to the standard place that every couple visits. Hidden gems are waiting to be discovered and utilized to their fullest potential. The pink grass in Tim and Anita’s films was one opportunity that presented itself one afternoon… I’ve never seen that grass again. Videographers and photographers have endless opportunities to capture stunning footage and images.

Ceremony and reception locations at Victoria Park

Victoria Park has several wedding spaces to choose from, which can cater for huge parties, intimate family dinners and everything in between. Each space has a private bar and private outdoor deck that makes the most of the city views – the Brisbane skyline during the day or the city lights at night. (And fireworks if you’re fortunate!) Once you choose your reception venue, you can decide whether to hold your ceremony on the adjoining terrace of your chosen room or in The Courtyard, the venue’s dedicated garden ceremony space. Both choices are stunning.

MARQUEE

The stunning marquee at Victoria Park is a huge space, catering for up to 380 seated guests. It contains eight sparkling crystal chandeliers, a large al fresco deck overlooking the city, two white marble bars, a dance floor and more.

GARDEN MARQUEE

This is a spacious area on the parkland overlooking the city skyline. It caters for up to 100 guests, and contains a marble bar, private covered deck and floor-to-ceiling windows.

BALLROOM

As you can imagine, the ballroom is a large but romantic space for your ceremony or reception. It seats up to 230 guests, and has crystal chandeliers, high ceilings with exposed beams, a marble bar, floor-to-ceiling views and a large private outdoor terrace. There is plenty of space to dance and relax.

ALABASTER

This very pretty space caters for up to 90 guests. It has a private bar, terrace, lounge area, dance floor and floor-to-ceiling glass windows.

THE COURTYARD

This cute garden space is perfect for a special ceremony. You can book it when you choose your reception room. It is situated to make the most of the views but is very private. It caters for up to 120 guests.

QUARTZ

An intimate venue for up to 58 seated guests. This stunning room features a private terrace, a bar and a built in dance floor.
