The year was 1998. The month was October. The date was the 31st. The day was Saturday. The meal was pizza. The location was Todd’s house. The bean bag was a tanned kinda brown. That was the very beginning of our love story. The day we first met. As you know, we were each other first love when we were 15 and 16 years old. We loved hard, and it was real, yet the distance between us from Bundaberg to Gladstone.
The trials and tribulations that came with being a teenager in the late ’90s brought us apart. You know, cos life was SO difficult back then, haha. After that time, we took very different paths for each of us to grow up and find ourselves as individuals.
These paths have been long, windy and full of ups, downs and everything in between. Those paths, however, made us who we are today, and whilst the universe had us waiting 21 years to find our way back to one another, we are both forever grateful for the lessons time apart has provided us. Without all that we have achieved and all that we have endured, we would not have the kind of love or the life we have the opportunity to have together now.
So for that reason alone, we wouldn’t change a thing. Now, in the middle of a global pandemic… we find ourselves with a home in Emerald and living almost four times the original distance between us. We also have a stack of other conflicting responsibilities and life barriers against us, and yet we continue to choose each other.
We knew early on after reconnecting that we were destined for forever love with one another. And so, we invite you to share in our very special day, one that has been intricately designed by us for us.
Each of you was there from the very beginning of our love story, so it’s only fitting you are by our side to celebrate the beginning of our new chapter as Mr and Mrs Wurgler.
